When I say GOD I mean GOOGLE. Whether you like it or not, Google is now more than a big brother, it is the GOD we all worship on the internet. But wait, there is someone out there who wants to take out GOD now, it’s none other than our beloved Microsoft.

Microsoft believes that if it can buy Yahoo! for $44 Billion, it will be on its way to compete with the GOD. The deal is not through yet but imagine what if does go through and we see a marriage, MSFT and YHOO.

For marriage, it is required that couples have something in common, Microsoft and Yahoo! have alot in common, for eg:

Yahoo! Mail and Live Mail
Yahoo! Seacrh and Live Search
Yahoo! Messenger and MSN Messenger
Yahoo! Publisher network and MSN AdCenter
Yahoo! Toolbar and MSN toolbar

All the above mentioned services are just few of the compatibility problems Microsoft will face when it comes to integration. What if Microsoft wants its Live mail to be the talk of the day and Yahoo! mail users start feeling neglected and some day Microsoft demands that you forfeit your Yahoo! mail ID and merge it with Live Mail. Willing to do that? Keep in mind, Yahoo! has very loyal followers….

Google controls the search engine market and has become really big in the past few years and doesn’t seem to stop. Microsoft already controls our operating system and soon will control our internet homepage. Don’t forget, Yahoo! is the number 1 site according to alexa and has been for quite a few number of years because it is not like Google (basically a search engine), it is a portal that provides you with news, entertainment, sports etc with a click of a mouse.

There is one thing I am sure this deal would do, it would give a boost to the lagging U.S economy. Maybe that’s why the Government is not going to create that many problems for the proposed take over by Microsoft.

Microhoo!
Yahoosoft!
